(con.), 6*d. * * * In the banking section Australasia are asked for at £ls. but fail to attract a seller. English, Scottish and Australian are again firming. New South Wales remain steady with buyer £SO 10s, seller £sl. Union of
s being recorded and investors aks and Government Loan. Australia are slowly firming, the market now standing at £ls 9s 6d. Insurance still remains firm. National changed hands at 16s sd, leaving the market with many buyers at 16s 4d, sellers asking 16» 6d. New Zealands are Quietly firming. Buyers have advanced to 47s and sellers are now asking for 47s 3d. Both South British and Standard are also asked for, but fail to attract sellers. • * * The coal section is attracting considerable attention. Hikurangis continue their upward movement, Renown (pref.), are very firm, buyers quoting 2s lid, sellers 3s. Taupiri, ordinary and preference, are both in demand. Gas shares are selling freely at 24s 6d, leaving no change in the market, the contributing issue is also changing hands at ISs 4d, 18s 3d.
Mining remains lifeless. Wailiis still remain weak, buyers 13s Id, sellers 13s 6d: few shares selling.
