BRITISH COLUMBIA PROBLEM TIMBER OFFICE OPERATIONS S (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) VICTORIA 8.C., Tuesday. The Department of Lands of British i Columbia may open a timber office in ■ Australia, closing that in operation at Toronto. The Minister of Lands, Air. Burden, I stated in reply to the Leader of the Opposition, Air. T. D. Pattullo, that he doubted if the closing of the Toronto office would meet with the approval of lumber interests in Canada. The Minister had discussed the question with prominent men in the industry, who stated that they doubted if tile j province was obtaining value for j money spent at Toronto. 1 No definite plans had been made j about an Australian office, but it was ! a possibility.
