MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB The annual report of the Maungakiekie Golf Club has been issued, and the meeting - fixed for March 26. The report states that there was an increase of 76 members during the year, and the total now stands at 824. According to the Golfers’ Handbook the Maungakiekie Club ranks among the first 25 in size in the world. The report states that all the reconstruction work on the new course, except for three greens, will be complete by Easter, when the provincial championships will be played. Tfiie fairway bunkers have yet to be cut and sanded. The laying of water to the greens is considered a most satisfactory accomplishment, and thanks are extended to Mr. J. Dawson, who gave his services gratuitously in supervising the scheme. At the special general meeting last September, the committee estimated that, after allowing proper depreciation on the club’s assets, the year’s operations would show a debit balance of approximately £SOO. A reference to the balance sheet will show this estimate was justified, the actual debit being £407 15s 9d. The increase in subscriptions authorised at the meeting should enable the club fully to meet its obligations for the coming year. The balance sheet in 1928 showed' a debit balance of £429 5s sd, exceeding that of 1929 by £2l 9s Bd. The debit balance is covered by the accumulated fund of £6,893 6s 2d. Subscriptions during the year amounted to £4,160, compared with £3,433 in 1928. Other items of income and their comparison with those of last year are: Green fees, £482 (£411); entrance fees, £B3l (£575): match fees, £174 (£130). Mr. G. Lawrence Taylor, who has been president of the club-since 1918, will not again take office. It has been recognised that during his term of office the welfare of the club has always been Mr. Taylor’s first consideration, and it is now hoped that for many years he_ will be an active member of the club/ WAIUKU CLUB The Waiuku Golf Club iias elected the following officers for the coming season: President, Mr. A.
