MODEL YACHT NOTES
The two model yacht events on the Ponsonby Cruising Club's programme drew fair entries. Ten faced the starter in the boys' race and 12 in the open race. The launches and yachts moored in St. Mary’s Bay made the course a hard one. Practically every model hit a. vessel or moorings every few yards. Stanley Bay was well to the front again. The new sft rater model from Ponsonby proved her worth by Winning the open race. This model was the admiration of all. There was a. splen—did exhibition of model yacht sailing on the Orakei Basin on Sunday afternoon. Notable prize-winners in Salome and Silver Bell were trying conclusions with Xpancy, the new model from Ponsonby. Mr. Matthews. of the one time fantous Hamilton Club. was an interested spectator. Present intentions are to hold sweepstake races on the Orakei Basin on Easter Monday for all class of models. Stanley Bay is the next attraction.
