SECRETARY HONOURED

POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT PRESENTATION TO MR. MACNAMARA Before he sailed by the Aorongi today Mr. G. Macnamara, secretary to the Post and Telegraph Department, was presented with a case of pipes on Vehalf of the officers and branches of the Auckland Postal District. Mr. J. J. Kearney, Acting-Chief Postmaster, in making the presentation, expressed the hope that Mr. Macnamara’s trip would be a pleasant and fruitful one. He said the officers of the Post and Telegraph Department were proud of the Dominion’s representative at such an important conference as that which Mr. Macnamara was to attend in London. He hoped that the vigorous policy which has characterised the secretary’s administration would continue, and he anticipated that the trip would be of great service to both public, and the Post and Telegraph Department. Mr. Macnamara arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning and sailed later by the Aorangi for London, via the United States, where lie will spend some weeks iinvestigating post and telegraph services there. Later he will attend an important world conference of post and telegraph officials in London.
