MANY TRADE DISPUTES
BIG LIST FOR ARBITRATION COURT DAIRYMEN AND COOKS “I think Auckland will have to apply for a separate Arbitration Court of its own—the rest of the country is not going to get a chance.” This was Mr. Justice Frazer’s jocular remark at the opening of the Arbitration Court in Auckland this morning when fixtures for the session, were under consideration. A sitting of this court has not been held here since {September, the usual December sitting having been abandoned when his Honour was assisting on tlie Supreme Court Bench. A heavy volume of business Involving trade disputes, amendments to awards, apprenticeship matters and compensation claims has accumulated and the court will be occupied in Auckland until May 5 Hearing of disputes will take place on the following dates: March 12.—Plumbers’ dispute. April 18.—Stonemasons’. April 19.—Tailors’. April 22.—Dairy employees’. April 23.—Cooks and Stewards’ (two days). On Saturday, March 16, the court leaves for Hamilton, where it W'ill be engaged until Wednesday, March 20, when hearings will b© continued in Auckland. On Tuesday, March 26. tho judee will proceed to Cambridge to hear a Transport Board appeal on the following day. On April 9 the court will adjourn to Wanganui. Two days later it will sit in New Plymouth and return to Auckland at the conclusion of brief business for resumption of the calendar.
