SEASON DRAWS TO CLOSE MATCHES AT WELLINGTON Press Association WELLINGTON, Sunday. The last senior cricket matches of the season commenced here yesterday. Wellington made 131 (R. A. Whyte 57) against Old Boys, who have lost four wickets for 152 (F. T. Badcock 71 not out). For Old Boys A. W. Duncan took five wickets for 17. University made 165 (R. H. Mackenzie 87) against Midland, who have 26 runs on without loss. For Midland A. Grant took six wickets for 4S. Institute scored 357 (C. S. Dempster 166, TI. Foley 110) against Kilbirnie. Hutt knocked up 238 (M. M. McGirr 106) in the match with Petone, who have two wickets down for 6 runs.
Old Boys, who are two points in the lead, by their distinct superiority over Wellington in yesterday’s play have practically assured for themselves the championship.
