RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“THE CROWD” The beautiful Eleanor Boardman. who appeared in such wonderful period costumes in “Bardelys, the Magnificent,” will be seen at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom> Theatres as the leading lady of Kin? Vidor’s “The Crowd.” this evening. This time the lovely Eleanor wears the simple clothing of a modern shop girl or the young wife of a poorly paid clerk of a great commercial institution. It will be rememEleanor Boardman bered that King Vidor was the man who made “The Big Parade.” and critics who have seen “The Crowd” pronounce it to be as great in its way as the war picture. It is a slice out of everyday life, great in its realism and its truth. There isn’t a character in it any bigger than a petty official in a large business firm, yet the scenes teem with drama, heart throbs and human interest. Janies Murray has the leading male role, and Bert Roach,, the well-known comedian, has an important part in the production. “That Certain Thing,” a laughable story of a rich young man in love with a. poor girl, will also be shown. Viola Dana is the star.
