tt is announced that Mr. J. C. Jones will take over the distributing business of Australasian Films, Ltd., on March 18. He will become the strongest independent in New Zealand or Australia. Operating as Greater Australasian Filins, Ltd., the exchange system ■will be entirely separated from Union Theatres as its former connections, and will be carried on as an independent concern. The deal has been in negotiation ever since Mr. Jones resigned his post as managing director of First National. Mr. W. A. Gibson, who has controlled Australasian Films’ distribution for years, has handed over the business, transferring all existing film contracts with producers and exhibitors to the new company.
