TE NGUTU AT THAMES
ITANDICAPPER PAUL has evidently not decided to take some of the Ciaudelands times seriously, and this is particularly noticeable in the case of Te Ngutu, who finished second to Tamahine in the Novice Trot. The Imperial Child gelding off a 3.50 limit, registered 3.46 1-5, and now appears on the end of a 3.52 class at Thames. While it is a commendable feature not to unduly penalise horses for their fast track records, it would be only reasonable to expect a horse getting second under such circumstances to be put on the mark that he last started from.
