POLISHER INJURED
EXPLOSION CAUSES FIRE Shortly before noon the City Fire Brigade received a cull to Lewis Kady *„ Limited, to a lire in the pianopolishing department. Only slight damage was done. The first was the result of an explosion, the cause of which is unknown. A man named Arthur Thomas Freech, aged 30, of 450 Manukau Road, Kpsom, who was using a pot when it exploded was severely burned about the hand and was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. A fire occurred at Grafton Road this morning caused by an electric cable fusing. The cable fused underneath a. shop occupied by Mr. H. Dunsford, grocer, and damaged one corner of the shop and the weather-boards. One room of the attached house, occupied by Mr. J. Hanlon, was slightly damaged. The house and shop are owned by the Auckland City Council. The contents of the shop were insured in the AP A. Office for £4OO.
