HIGHWAYS BOARD’S WORK Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The Main Highways Board reports that during the four years the board has beeVi operating, the cost of bridge construction has constituted large proportion of its expenditure. This class of expenditure is by no means, at an end. as there are now 14 bridges in various parts of the Dominion that are either being constructed or will have to be reconstructed in the immediate future, the total cost of which is £300.000. The largest t these is the Balclutha Bridge, which is estimated to cost £ 60.000.
