WOMAN DEAD IN BATH

PROBABLE FAINTING FIT Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The inquest into the death of Elien Rose Mansfield, a married woman who was found lying dead in a bath at her home on February 22, concluded to-day. Kelson Mansfield, son of deceased, gave evidence that on his return from school he found his mother in the bath, face downwards and fully dressed. His mother had been gardening that day and was subject to fainting fits. Dr. Pearson, pathologist at the hospital, who made a post mortem examination, said the cause of death was drowning. The coroner returned a verdict that Mrs. Mansfield had been found drowned in a bath and from the evidence it appeared likely she fell into it during a fainting fit.
