CHINESE DELAYS HIS DEPARTURE An explanation that he was waiting for money from America so that he could buy his ticket received scant consideration when Ah Ching was charged at the Police Court this morning with overstaying the terms of his temporary immigration permit. Ching. a laundryman, aged 30, pleaded guilty, and Mr. J. A. Mclntosh, Collector of Customs, said that the man had stayed in the Dominion 15 months longer than was permited, He had arrived in May, 1927. Ching was fined £2O, in default one month’s imprisonment. A deportation order was made.
