SALES BY AUCTION

Samuel Vuile and Sons, Limited, offered at auction yesterday a number of properties in the estate of the late Mr. H. M. Smeeton. A concrete shop and dwelling, bakehouse and cottage, at the corner of Edendsde and Haverstock Roads, was sold for £875, and a section with 61ft frontage to Mount Albert Road, near Dominion Road, was sold for £4 5s a foot, the total price being £259 ss. Bidding for other properties in the estate did not reach the reserve, and the properties were passed in.

LONDON WOOL SALES

(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Friday. At the wool sales 7,734 bales were offered, of which 1,418 were New Zealand. There was a good selection of Merinos, mostly spinners’ style, and a small selection of average style greasy crossbreds. There was a strong % T ome demand at full late rates. New Zealand, M Ngatapa, top price 17id, average lfiid.
