CANADIAN WINNER ARRIVES. —The Canadian Government cargo steamer, Canadian Winner, arrived in port at 9 o’clock this morning and berthed at Prince’s Wharf. She brings a cargo of 2,000 tons of general merchandise, in which motor-cars, barbed wire, fencing 1 wire and steel pipes predominate. Approximately 100 cars will be landed here. She loaded at Sydney (Nova Scotia) and Halifax, clearing Halifax on January 28. Colon was reached on February 7. and bunkers were filled there. Balboa was cleared on February 8, and good weather was experienced on the trip to ! Auckland. After discharging the local * portion of her cargo, the Canadian Win- ’ ner will leave for Wellington, Lyttelton, ‘ Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff to complete unloading. From Bluff she will go back * to Wellington to commence loading for ’ the return trip. The Rarawa will arrive from New Plymouth at 7.30 a.m. to-morrow. She will sail on the return trip at 5 p.m. on Alonday.
