Rendezvous for Sporting Enthusiasts INDOOR GOLFING COURSE. A rendezvous for enthusiasts of every branch of sport, in the form of a large sports room to be known as “The Olympic’* and occupying nearly one-quarter of an acre of floor space on the first floor of Fullers’ Buildings, is soon to be

opened to Aucklanders. QIMILAR. rooms, which iu reality arc large sporting clubs, are especially popular in America and in some of the larger cities of Australia. But to New Zealand it is something new. It has been announced that the building for this proposed Auckland club is being thoroughly renovated and should be ready for use early next month. Sparing nothing, the propri etors arc aiming to make the room the most comfortable and attractive in Australia or New Zealand. To cater for billiards and snooker players, 18 full-size tables have already been set up, and a popular feature of the lay-out for the members of the half-dozen or so ping-pong clubs which are at present flourishing in the city, is six ping-pong tables of championship standard and size. NDOOR GOLFING COURSE For golfers an attractive putting green, 36 feet square, is to be formed. This is being put down in two thick nesses of woven green baise which has proved to be equally as fast as the average green, it will be a nine-hole bunkered course on which it will be possible to make numerous 30ft. putts. This will be the only indoor course of nine holes in New Zealand. There will also be a tea and coffee service which will be served either in the main room or the lounge. Off the main room there wdll be meeting rooms for various sport 3 bodies, while other apartments set aside include a sporting library, a feature of which will be a large sporting reference and flies of all sporting papers. A large radio set as a means of receiving all the latest sporting results is being installed.
