RANGE OF N.Z.-MADE GOODS CASH-ORDER INQUIRY (Special to THE SUN) CH RISTCHURCH, Thursday. "This visit has been a revelation to me.” said the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, at the inquiry into the cash order trading system to-day. "I am astonished at the quality and range of goods made ih the Dominion, and I believe the Government will, after my report is made, give preference to goods produced and manufactured within New Zealand.” Visits of inspection were paid to a number of factories in the city. The Minister was accompanied by Air. J. W. Collins, Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Mr. M. Bradley, president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association. Air. E. li. Alarriner, organiser for the association, and Air. D. Oolquhoun. local officer for the Department of Industries and Commerce.
To-morrow Mr. W. Ala chin will give evidence on behalf of the Retail Drapers’ Association.
