TAKAPUNA COUNCIL

CANDIDATES ANNOUNCED Mr. Bryce Hart announces that hr will be a candidate for a seat upon the Takapuna Borough Council at the approaching biennial municipal elections. Mr. Hart is a solicitor by profession, and has been a resident of the borough for 28 years.

Intending candidates announced up to the present are:—For the Mayoralty’: Messrs. John Davis and A. H. Wilkie. For the council: Messrs. B. Hart, J. Guiniven. W. A. Knaggs, and A. Otway. Under the new representation Takapuna will be entitled to two seats on the Waitemata Power Board. The two sitting members, Messrs. J. W. Hayden (chairman), and Miles E. Thompson, will again offer their services. and Messrs. J. Guiniven and A. W White have also signified their intention of contesting the election. The annual meeting of the Milford Progressive Association will be held on March 21. In view of the near approach of the municipal elections it is probable that great interest will be taken in the affairs of this ratepayers’ organisation. Candidates for council and Power Board will be selected at the meeting.
