Tlie liner Jervis Bay met the Finnish sailing ship Grace Harmer almost becalmed in the Great Australian Bight, when the latter was 150 days out from North Carolina. She was flying a distress signal. One of her boats came alongside the Jervis Bay and the mate said they were in a bad way for want of stores. These were supplied. The mate said that in two more days they would have been in a serious plight. No more information could be obtained from them concerning their experiences.
