WHEAT OFFERING FREELY
POTATO MARKET EASIER Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. Wheat continues to come forward freely, but most of it is going into store. The break in the weather will not be unwelcome, as it may hold up threshing for a few days and stop the glut that is developing. Oats are scarcely holding recent quotations. Prompt A Cartons range from 3s 3d to 3s 3id, f.0.b., with April-September at 3s 4Jd to 3s sd. There is more demand from the North Island for small seeds, and improved shipments are being made. No change in values to farmers is recorded, as merchants have acquired fair stocks which they are desirous of quitting before making further purchases. Potatoes are inclined to ease slightly as a result of the rain. Business has been done for July-September delivery at £5 17s 6d. f.0.b.. or 2s 6d down, on the week-end quotation. April. May-June delivery is quoted at £4 17s 6d a ton. Onion values have slipped back on the strength of reports of a good crop.
