THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY

The butter 6utput front the Ruawai cooperative dairy factory last month was 75i{ tons, against 512 tons in February, 1928 For the season to date the output is 58H tons, against 398 i tons last year, an increase of 193 tons. The increase for February is remarkable, as it was the driest month recorded for many years. The increase of output from the Ruawai and Northern Wairoa factories this season is 400 tons, a record hard to beat by any dairying district in the Auckland Province.

An increased output of butter is being steadily maintained in the Port Albert district this season. In spite of the long spell of dry weather there was a record output during February of 23 tons of butter at the Port Albert Dairy Company’s factory, compared with 13 tons made in February 1928. Up to the end of February 204 tons 4cwt have been made this season, compared with 156 tons lOcwt for the same period last season.
