RAIN AT NEW PLYMOUTH (Special to THE SUN) NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. The danger of further failures in the Electric-power supply at New Plymouth is now past, as a result of light ’ainfall last night and a heavier downpour to-day. The Waiwakaiho River, from which New Plymouth takes its Power, rose five inches in a little over three hours, and is still rising. The Mangorei power-house lias not been shut down since Saturday mornmg, a light load yesterday being carried with the amount of water available, and by the stand-by plants.
