“THE PASSING OF MR QUINN” “The Passing Of Mr. Quinn.” is still attracting- great interest at the Lyric Theatre. This fine picture is not only one of the most fascinating mysterystories translated to the but is also a great example of what the British motion picture industry can do in the way of character portrayal, lighting and photography. “The Passing of Mr. Quinn” tells of the mystery surrounding the death of Professor Appleby by poisoning. Three people could have put the poison in his drink—his wife, her lover and a maid. Suspicion is made to rest on his wife, hut after a terrible ordeal at the murder trial she is acquitted because of the Jack of direct evidence. Her friend. Dr. Alec Portal, stands by her, and after the excitement dies down they marry and settle down to live the life of a quiet general practitioner. Then suddenly their little world is shattered by the discovery of a letter which seems to throw new light on the murder, and happiness is not assured until after the arrival and passing of the mysterious Mr. Quinn. Trilby Clark and Stewart Rome have the leading roles. A second big picture is also shown in “The Wife's Relations,” starring Shirley Mason.
