A sensation in Canterbury rowing this season has been the great showing made by Timaru in regattas,” writes a Christchurch oarsman. “This club, which has been very quiet during the last few years, failed by onlv three points to win the D.C.L. Cup, with which goes the title of champion club of Canterbury. The South Canterbury men took home £27 in prize money for the season.” Canterbury’s crew for the interprovincial eights is practically the same as that which won in Wellington 12 months ago. Four of the men who were picked for the Olympic eight are included, and the stroke is F. 11. Browne It is difficult to see any crew that will push the Canterbury men.
