VIOLENT RUSSIANS
FOLLOWERS OF TROTSKY EDITOR ASSAULTED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) BERLIN, Saturday. Five men, believed to be German followers of Leo Trotsky, the Russian exile, interviewed Dr. Landau, editor of the Russian newspaper “Rul,” in reference to an article which they alleged had advocated the assassination of M. Trotsky. The editor denied the construction his visitors placed upon the article^. Thereupon the Russians violently assaulted Dr. Landau, and smashed the furniture and plant in the building. They then disapeparede. The majority of the members of the German Cabinet have expressed themselves as opposed to the admission of M. Trotsky, but no such formal decision has yet been announced. Herr Urbahns, editor of the “VolksWille” (Trotsky’s German organ), has received a telegram from the exile, saying his position is becoming acute, and asking what is German’s answer. Herr Urbahns explains that the Turkish Government is making difficulties for Trotsky.
