“THE PASSING OF MR. QUINN” A fascinating story of an unsolved murder is now being shown at the Lyric Theatre in “The Passing of Mr. Quinn,” a British production, starring two well-known stage actors in Trilby Clark and Stewart Rome. “The Passing of Mr. Quinn” is a story centring around the death by poisoning of Professor Appleby. Three persons were suspected, but suspicion and false evidence brought his widow to the prisoner’s dock. All through the trial her friend and medical adviser, l)r. Alec Portol, stood by her, and when she was acquitted saw her safely settled in France. A year later they were married, but he found a letter written just before the murder which seemed to implicate her afresh. His love was turning to hate when Mr. Quinn arrived, and cleared up the mystery for ever. The chief character roles r.ve very well portraved by Stewart Home as Dr. Portal, Ursula Jeans as the maid, and Trilhv Clark as Mrs. Appleby. ’The Wife’s Relations.” an enjoyable farce-comedy starring the popular Shirley Mason, is also being shown. CLICK CLACK CABARET The Click Clack Cabaret will re-open on Tuesday, March 12, with a Grand Opening Ball entitled *‘A Night in Danceland.” The music will be provided by t lyde Howley’s “Famous Intt f "iationals, and several novelty items new to Auckland will be introduced. Since it was last used the Cabaret has been entirely renovated. “The Bushranger,” Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s thrilling romance of the Australian plains, with Tim McCoy in an amazing adventure with bullwhip and boomerang, is an attraction soon to he screened here. It is a vivid adventure laid in the backblocks. Marion Douglas is the heroine, with Dale Austin (“Miss New Zealand”) playing in 'he picture.
