MENTAL PATIENTS’ PICNIC
(From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, To-day. The annual picnic and sports of the Tokanui Mental Hospital was held on the banks of the Punui River, Te Awamutu. Over 200 patients were conveyed to the picnic site in buses and lorries. The sports programme was conducted in good style, some of the events providing thrilling finishes. The prizes were presented to the successful competitors by Mrs. W. H. Wood (official visitor). Dr. Childs thanked the donors of the prizes, and the members of the staff of the hospital for the manner in which they had contributed to the success of the meeting.
