FIJIAN’S UNWELCOME INTRUSION PUT AWAY FOR MONTH Frederick Watkins’s excuse that he wanted to ask the way, when he wai found on enclosed premises in Epsom, was not believed by Mr. W. R. McKean. S.M., at the Police Court this morning. Watkins, a Fijian labourer, aged 57, pleaded not guilty to being found on the premises of 59 Gillies Avenue. Constable Duel said that he had been i called to the house where Watkins had ! been found in the porch at 11 o’clock at night. He was under the influence of liquor. Watkins: I wanted to ask the way up the line. Sub-Inspector McCarthy referred to the alarm occasioned nervous women by men like Watkins. ‘ The man works on the wharf occasionally,” he said, “but spends most of his time j wandering about.” Sentence of one month's imprisonment was passed
