Forequarters of lamb are selling at 1s a lb in the shops; loin and hindquarters, 1s 3d; leg, Is 4d; leg of mutton, 9d ; hindquarters, 9d ; forequarters, 7d ; shoulders and necks, 7£d ; leg and loin chops. 11d; neck chops, 8d; trimmed cutlets, 1s 1d; prime rib of beef, 7d; corned round and beef steak, 8d; suet, gravy beef and sausages, 6d; rump steak, 1s 2d; sirloir 10d; chuck rib, 7d. In the markets, cabbages are selling at 2s to 4s 6d a dozen; potatoes, 3s 9d to 4s 6d a bag; beans, 2s to 5s a bag; green peas. 4s to 9s a bag; celery, 1s to 2s 9d a bundle; cucumbers, 3d to 9d a dozen; lettuces, 1s to 4s 6d a case; carrots, beet, parsnips and turnips, 6d to 1s a dozen bundles; water melons, 4d to 1s 6d each.
