HUTT ROAD SERVICES BIG INCREASE IN PASSENGERS Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The Railway Department is replacing ten of the present buses on the Hutt road with a new type. The department states that the passengers carried by its 41 buses during the past two months was 199,934 and 217,458 respectively, and it is expected that for the financial year the total will be 2,000,000 passengers. The co-operation of rail and motor services in the Hutt Valley has effected a saving of £5,000 per annum on train-operation costs.
