At a«recent meeting of the committee of the Auckland Trotting Club correspondence was received from the Can-* ter bury - Owners’ and Breeders’ Association in reference to handicapping and the* placing of a time board in the riders’ rind drivers’ rooms. It was resolved tihut the request for the time board be granted and a reply forwarded stating that the question of handicapping was now being dealt with by the ojecutive of the conference. The pr«asident, Mr. J. Rowe, formed the* committee that the Finance Committee* would meet this month to deal with the latest correspondence and quotations in connection with the electric tota.iisator, and hoped to be in a position g.o place before the general committee a. final report on the matter at an early date.

Hearty congratulations were extended to Mr. J. Rowe on his election as a life number cf the Auckland Racing: Club- Mr. C. .T. Schnauer spoke of tho good feelings which had always existed betwfeen the racing and trotting clubs, and hoped that Mr. Rowe would be s paired many years to enjoy the honour. Messrs. 11. Morpeth, G. Tansley and <£ W. Ryan endorsed these remarks. Mr-, liowe the committee for its good wishes and said what he had Received from the Auckland Racing Club was not only an honour to hir.ciself, but also to the Auckland Trottting Club and the sport of trotting.
