The House to-day adopted the conference report on the Navy Appropriation Bill, carrying £72.047,339 for the fiscal year 1930. including £2,470,000 for starting the construction of five new cruisers and one plane-carrier next June. Mr. French announced that the second group of five cruisers would be started in June. 1930. and the keels for the final five will be laid in June. 1931. The total cost will he £54,800,000.
