COUNCILLORS AT VARIANCE DISPUTE AT TAUMARUNUI (from Our Otcn Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI Wednesday. At a special meeting of the TauBorough Council last night to consider the appointment of officials, Cr. G. S. Steadman said the council was like a merry-go-round. The Deputy- Mayor. Cr. J. E. Ward, Wrongly objected to the remark. He did not like merry-go-rounds, he said. *l® had never been on one, and did n °t want to be classed as acting like one. At the last regular meeting, the ilayo; A Mr. G. E. Manson. and several councillors, left the room, as a result °* a motion being carried disagreeing v, *'-h his Worship’s ruling.
