Power Interruption

A power interruption which occurred at Gisborne last night for half an hour, it is ascertained, was due to a breakdown in the line between Bunny thorpe and Wanganui. The power normally consumed by the southern load in assisting Mangahao was thrown back cn to Waikaremoana, resulting in an upset of the voltage balance. This necessitated tripping tho Poverty Bay supply switch to save destruction of materials here by an over-supply of current.—P.A.
