CHURCH BROADCASTING
SYNCHRONISATION WANTED GOOD FRIDAY SERVICES Outlining a discussion which had taken place at "Wellington and Christchurch, relative to the Auckland remit that church services should bo synchronised, a letter was received from the Broadcasting Company by the IYA Church Service Committee at a meeting during the week. It was decided to recommend to the company again that the question of synchronisation should be referred to the two committees once more. As the 3YA committee had arranged its rota in a way which avoided duplication of services with IYA, it was felt that it was only necessary for 2YA to fall into line, and the committee’s object would be attained. The question of church broadcasts on Good Friday was discussed, and it was decided to allocate a morning service to the Anglican Church, and the evening service to the Congregational Church, it' the latter so desired. The company was recommended to write to the Baptist Tabernacle pointing out that its representative had left the city permanently, and asking that another be appointed. A means by which church broadcasts would be made more satisfactory regarding reception was discussed. After some of the difficulties had been pointed out. it was decided to write to the company asking what steps could be taken to improve church broadcasts.
