ROTORUA RACING CLUB

(From Our Oxen Correspondent) ROTORUA, Wednesday. After receiving a deputation from the Rotorua Racing Club, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, yesterday was shown over the racecourse and grounds. He expressed great satisfaction at the progress made by the club in the beautification of the park and at the excellence of its buildings and accommodation. He was specially impressed with the natural beauty of the site, with its wonderful view of the lake and surrounding hills. At present the Territorials are in occupation, and the spacious hall under the stand has been converted into a dining hall for the troops. This provision by the club not only adds to the comfort of the trainees and staff, but effects a very great saving to the Defence Department.
