SENSATION IN CANADA RELEASE ON BAIL ILLEGAL (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 1.27 p.m. OTTAWA, Tuesday. Louis Auger, tbe youngest member of tbe Canadian Parliament, is in gaol awaiting an application to the Supreme Court of Ontario for bail. He is charged with a serious offence against a young woman. Auger was arrested when leaving Parliament Buildings, and was released on £2OO bail. He was subsequently rearrested on the Crown's application that his release was illegal. The Canadian criminal code provides that bail can only be granted by a judge of the Supreme Court where a person is accused of murder, treason, or an offence punishable by death.
