Former Auckland Resident Missing
LOST FROM MANUKA DISAPPEARED AT SEA A former resident of Auckland, Mr. G. A. Campey, is reported to have been lost from the Manuka on her last voyage from Melbourne to Wellington. Efforts to trace him have proved fruitless. It is reported that ,he left £S(i with the purser of the Manuka. The master of the vessel has reported that Mr. Campey was reported missing at. 8 o’clock on the morning of February 23. He was last seen on deck at 8 p.m. on February Mr. Campey, who was a member of the staff of the Bank of Australasia in Melbourne, was returning to New Zealand, and would have reached Wellington ou Sunday. The bare fact of Mr. Campey's disappearance has been received at the Auckland branch of the hank. Mr. Campey was employed in Auckland for a long period, and was well known. He was transferred to Australia in July, last year. His age was between 30 and 40 years.
