UNIMPROVED VALUES

EXEMPTIONS OPPOSED IN TAKAPUNA As the result of the recent decision of the Takapuna Borough Council to apply for exemption of certain rural land from the provisions of the unimproved values rating in force in the district, Cr. John Guiniven has lodged a notice cf motion that the decision be rescinded. This will be dealt with at the next meeting of the council. The resolution was arrived at on the casting vote of the Mayor, two councillors being absent. Mr. Guiniven states that it is his intention to submit the matter to a public meeting to be called shortly, and he expects to be fortified with a resolution from that meeting when he brings his rescinding motion before the council. He has also taken up the question with Cabinet.
