MATAMATA SHOW

SIGNS OF PROSPERITY

(From Our Own Correspondent) MATAMATA, To-dav The eighteenth annual show of'«,„ Matamata A. and P. held yesterday in tine weather. The atendance was good and the exhiibt! h ell up to standard. The Hon w r Taverner declared the show open an,i congratulated the residents on the an parent prosperity ot the district The Jersey classes, as usual.' were the strongest in the show, and Mr. \y IT. Miers had a field day. Among tiie Friesians Mr. H. Woolnough and Mr K. C. Banks were the principal prize! winners.

Shorthorns were poorly represented Mr. W. J. Shaw s were the only entries in Ayrshires. Both the draught and light horse sections were better represented than usual, and 14 dogs faced the judge. The sheep pens were very poorly tilled. There were no pigs on exhibition.
