ANOTHER CYCLIST TO ATTEMPT ROAD RECORD

AUCKLAND TO WELLINGTON (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Tuesday. Advice has been received that Leslie Nelson, the young Hamilton cyclist, intends to leave Auckland at midnight next Tuesday to ride from Auckland to Wellington. He will attempt to lower Sutherland’s record of 73 hours between the two cities. Nelson’s first stop for sleep will be Palmerston North, although he will pause for short intervals for food. Nelson’s effort is an ambitious one, as his longest road trips have not taken him further than Te Aroha, Raglan and Arapuni, with Hamilton as his base. Nelson is at present at Huapai, North Auckland.
