Waikato Trotting Fixture Reviewed
PRELIMINARY NOTES CLAUDELANDS ON SATURDAY The Cup fixture of the Waikato Trotting Club, which comes up for decision on Saturday at Claudelands, promises to be one of the most successful ever held under the auspices of the popular country organisation. The various events have filled well, and good fields promise to be the order of the day, while there is a fine class of contestants that will ensure keen racing with thrilling finishes. The Waikato Club caters most hospitably for its visitors and patrons, and there is sure to be a big attendance at the up-to-date course on Saturday when the ‘Tote - ’ bells are set in motion. Paradigm may, or may not, be a rod in pickle, but he has not been raced much, and two seasons ago gave a lot of promise. Peter Brown may be best of those further back, but Tamahine, Carwood. Great Way and Paradigm will attract most attention fro.m backers. Progressive Handicap There is plenty of material here to make an interesting contest, and some promising and improving novices will measure strides with some more seasoned competitors. Carmel has already won a heat this season, a.VI Mountain Bell is coming to hand in
