RARE SPECIMENS FOUND i (From Our Own Correspondent) KAITAIA, To-day. Mr. W. K. B. Oliver, director of the Dominion .Museum, Wellington, is on a vi&itjo the Far North for the purpose collecting plants and animals Peculiar to these districts for placing ® the museum. While at Spirits Cay he succeeded in obtaining various plant .specimens of that locality, including the todea. a fare and beautiful fern found only north of Mangonui. and a specimen of colensoa. named after the Rev. Colensoa. The latter plant is one with large blue flowers two inches long, and is fast disappearing because of cattle.
