SHAKESPEARIAN SEASON
COMMENCING ON SATURDAY The Allan Wilkie Shakespearian Company will commence its return visit to Auckland at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday evening-. No less than 19 different plays will be staged on 19 evenings, a remarkable record and one that says much for Mr. Wilkie’s organisation. The plays to be staged will include “The Merchant of Venice,” “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “The Taming of the Shrew,” “Othello,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “Coriolanus,” “Twelfth Night,” “Henry the Fifth,” "All's Well That Ends ‘Well,” “As You Like It,” “King Lear,” “The Tempest,” “Julius Caesar,” “Macbeth,” “Hamlet” and “Henry the Eighth.” The presentation of “Coriolanus” will be the first in Auckland. Mr. Allan Wilkie will again be supported in the leading female roles by Miss Hunter-Watts, who so distinguished herself by her delightful artistry duri:<# previous tours of the Dominion.
