KNEW WAIKATO WELL

LATE MR. GEORGE PARR (From Our Ou'll Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. Mr. George Parr, a member of tbe Auckland Harbour Board and one of the oldest Waikato residents, died this morning, aged 60. He was formerly president of the Chamber of Commerce and an authority on the history of Hamilton. He was deeply interested in the tS'aiuku Cana! scheme, and delivered many lectures on this subject. Some vear's ago he was chairman of the West Coast J tailway League. He v. aa in the grocery trade before i etiring. Mr. Parr was born at_ St. Helens. Lancashire, coming to New Zealand when a boy. A bachelor, he is survived by a brother. Air. 14. Parr, of Hamilton.
