A MOABITE COLT INTERESTING ARRIVAL TO-DAY Not the least valuable of the many good things on the Mcunganui from Sydney this morning was a choice consignment of blood stock, comprising the brood mare Marriage Bell and her colt foal by Moabite. Indeed, the colt, impressed as perhaps the best portion of the cargo, for without doubt he is a class youngster. A September foal, he has obviously done well, and the manner in which lie dealt with his feed in his stall down the for’ard hold when inspected this morning was illuminating. He is a good doer, so that in future he has only to keep that up to cause little worry and concern when travelling for fields to conquer—as he looks every inch a conqueror. Has Done Well It is nearly two years ago that the Messrs. J. C. and P. S. Gleeson decided to send the Tea Tray—Gold Treasure mare to Australia to be mated with the all-conquering Valais. The mare missed to that horse and was then put to Moabite, and the arrival last September of a dark bay colt was the fruit of that union. The youngster is a good-looker, having nice shoulders, good driving power behind, beautifully, clean legs, and a long rein. He is a model of what a young thoroughbred should be, and for a five-month foal he shows splendid development.
