ANOTHER INSULT
ITALIANS AT COLOMBO (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) ! Reed. 11 a.m. COLOMBO. Monday. ! There is much indignation in Government and consular circles because of an incident which the Italian Consul interprets as an affront to his country. It appears that a party of youths entered the bungalow of Dr. Gino Scarpa,' and painted a shield bearing the Italian Royal Arms and the arms of the Fascist Government in black. Dr. Scarpa takes a serious view of the outrage, and has cabled to Italy. Not long ago the consular sign was thrown into a canal. The police today charged an educated youth, the son of a high Government official, with the offence.
