Bank of New Zealand Firm
P. and O. Improve A QUIET tone was registered on ’Change this morning. Trading was restricted to within a very small compass.
Although little business has been registered on Change this morning, all the better class securities remain firm. Bank of New Zealand are exceptionally firm, no sellers appearing. P. and O. (deferred stock) are sought after at h:’s. but fail to attract sellers. Bank securities are firm, though little business has been transacted in this Insurances are in demand. National have steady buyers at 16s. New Zealands are asked for at 46s 9d, sellers appearing at 47s 6d. Queensland and South British are also very firm.
! In the coal section, Hikurangi have ! again lost the buying quotations. Pukemiro are steady. Renown ordinary are again firming. buyers quoting 17s, sellers 17s 9d, the preference issue also remain firm. Westport are in demand with buyers at 31« Pd. shares unoffered. Woollen shares are keenly sought 1 after, few shares offering. * * * j Waihi shares are still weakening, j buyers now quoting 13s sd, sellers 13s | 7d. Mount Lyell are steady. Kuala I Kampar buyers have advanced twopence, sellers holding for 15s 9d.
