COMFORTABLE VICTORY (United P.A.—By Telegraph—right) MELBOURNE. Sunday. The Victoria Amateur Turf Club's meeting was concluded at cnultiyiti yesterday. In the decision of the Caulfield Futuritv Stakes. the three-year-old Mollison showed a return to form, and won his race in brilliant style, with the English-bred horse Gothic in second place. Mollison s victory vt as received with great enthusiasm. The finish of the AVoodcliffo Handicap was fought out by three horses engaged in the Australian Cup. the trio including Kidaides, Octember, and Finsbury. The following were the results 01 the leading events: CAULFIELD FUTURITY STAKES. Cf £3,500: for two-year-olds and upwards- weight-for-age. with penalties and allowances: 7 furlongs. MOLLISON (E. M. Gothic kept up a brilliant run, but be was unable to overhaul Mollison. "ho won by a length and a-balf. wim Greenline half a head away third. Davis has two yearlings to start on this season who may make turf history, judged on breeding and relationship, writes ’’Vedette.” One is the Psychology—Desert Gold colt, a brown, who is stated to be a fine individual. So far Desert Gold lias not produced anything like herself in quality as a racehorse, but in Oreum she had one very fair galloper. The other youngster is the Limond —Homage filly purchased by Mr. T. H. Lowry at the recent Trentham sales. This is a sister to Episode and Honour, and is booked for the stud after her racing career. No doubt she was purchased more with the idea of breeding than racing. Mr. Lowry at present is negotiating the purchase of another well-bred stallion in England.
